Free Mover Students

Steps

If you would like to join us for an exchange period and your home university is not a partner of unibz you can apply as Free Mover.

Please send to the International Relations Office:

- Motivation letter
- Official transcript of university records
- Enrolment certificate from your home university (under review)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Portfolio (for admission to the Faculty of Design and Art)  

  • by 10 May for the first semester or the whole academic year
  • by 10 October for the second semester

1. Registering

Once the Faculty admits you as a Free Mover student, we will send you a link an e-mail inviting you to complete your online registration:

  • by 30th June for the first semester or the whole academic year
  • by 30th November for the second semester or the whole academic year

2. Accommodation

We offer single rooms in different residence halls in Bozen-Bolzano for 295€ monthly. You can apply for it through the online registration form. Please note that the contracts for the residence halls are for 5 months. Even if you stay less you will need to pay for the whole period of the contract. Be aware the priority is given to Erasmus+ and Bilateral Agreements students.

3. Study Plan / Learning Agreement (LA)

Look up in the Course Catalogue.

As an exchange student you can choose courses from the Faculty you are enrolled it. If you are interested in taking courses from other faculties, please contact us (international.relations@unibz.it) and we will let you know if it is possible. Remember that the Faculty of Education is seated in Brixen-Bressanone and the degree course in Tourism in Bruneck-Brunico.

Once your LA is ready send it to the contact person in your Faculty for the approval.

4. Tuition fee

As a free mover incoming student, you have to cover the same tuition fees as our regular students. The tuition fees for the academic year 2017-2018 are € 743,50 for one semester and € 1343,50 for the whole academic year.

Please send the bank wiring receipt to international.relations@unibz.it as proof of your payment within three weeks of the start of the semester.

Payment reason: "Free Mover Incoming", student's surname and name, 1. or/and 2. semester and academic year  

Please make sure that the full amount of tuition fees will be credited to the bank account, i.e. you will have to pay for full bank wiring costs if the arise.

Be advised that once the payment is made, there won't be any refunding possibility if you decide to cancel your stay afterwards.  

Steps 2

Students who have Free Mover status are able to access all the services offered by unibz like regular degree seeking students (library, canteen, photocopies/prints, etc.) and will receive a transcript of records at the end of their stay.

5. Exchange Students' Guide and Welcome Session

For more specific information regarding Visa, residence permit, health care, language courses and other information please read our Exchange Students' Guide carefully.

The Welcome Session will be organized before the beginning of each semester. During this meeting you will receive all necessary information for studying and living in Bozen-Bolzano, Brixen-Bressanone, Bruneck-Brunico. The Student Secretariat will also hand you the student ID card at the end of the session.
