Laboratory for Bio-Organic Chemistry and Bio-Crystallography

Description

In this laboratory, GM Escherichia coli is used to produce proteins from Erwinia amylovora to be studied with protein X-ray crystallography. The crude extract from the bacterial cultures is loaded onto chromatography columns for the purification of the proteins under investigation. The pure proteins are then crystallised to solve their structure at the atomic level.
