Business Management Strategies

text

According to current studies, climate change will not have a serious impact on snow reliability and the number of operating days in South Tyrol in the next 10 to 15 years, but it can still have an indirect effect on guest satisfaction. Due to longer warm periods or rain, slushy and very wet snow may occur more often in the coming years. This phenomenon will be particularly noticeable at lower altitudes. Based on a survey to measure guest satisfaction with regard to weather and snow quality, it should be analysed whether poor snow quality at lower altitudes of the ski areas causes skiers to move to higher altitudes. This could lead to a very high density of skiers at higher altitudes, who then find too little space on the slopes and are therefore dissatisfied, despite good snow conditions. Employing a comprehensive study that combines meteorological data, guest numbers, distribution and satisfaction of skiers in the ski area, hypotheses regarding the degree of satisfaction of the ski day will be analysed. The results will be used to develop techniques for managing visitor flows in the ski area.
