Agricultural, Food and Mountain Environmental Sciences

This bachelor allows you to gain the interdisciplinary competence required to work in the field of production and commercialisation of crops and animal products, the processing of agricultural commodities to food products and the sustainable management of forests and mountain territories.

Course description

The use of modern technology has transformed also agriculture. Nowadays, concepts like sustainability and protection of the environment are closely linked to growing crops and food production. This course draws its contents from various scientific branches: natural science, engineering and economics in order to offer you a comprehensive, solid educational background.

In the third year you will specialise in one of the following fields according to the chosen path:

  • Agricultural Production
  • Management of the Mountain Environment

Head of the Business Administration Department of the South Tyrolean Farmers' Union, Bozen-Bolzano

This bachelor programme offers diverse courses on a wide range of agricultural topics. Field trips and company visits as well as multilingualism were core elements of the study programme. Afterwards I completed the Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and found a job at the South Tyrolean Farmers' Union, where I deal with business management and agronomic issues, the areas of valuation and project planning, both for individual companies and for the province of South Tyrol.
