This programme is centred upon contemporary aesthetics and explores the media of photography, film and computer. Under the supervision of world-famous artists, you will work in small groups and will create projects that contribute to the current debate within the arts and society.
You will work in the studios located in the faculty building: one devoted to space (for sculpture and installations); one to the visual arts (photography, videos and film), one to interaction (for performative arts/new media) and one to exhibitions (visual culture/curatorship). You will be able to experiment and create your customised study programme. You can also choose to repeat the experience of one studio twice.
The relationship between students and lecturers is very well balanced: work groups are small and supervised by three lecturers. In this programme, theory is always linked to practice. Lively and regular discussion is a guarantee for successful learning.

The study programme starts with the 'Warm-up' course that introduces students to a practical approach to art. In the following terms, you will work in the studios: 'Image', 'Space', 'Interact' and 'Exhibit'. During the last term, you will then focus on the development of your final degree project based on what you have learnt in one of the four studios.
The modules on offer include the study of Art History and Aesthetics, practical courses in our studios, some modules that students can choose freely and language courses.
You will learn theories specific to various professional sectors and you will be able to apply what you learnt if you choose to continue to postgraduate study in the fields of design, curatorship or in the cultural business.
In the studios, where both individual and team work is encouraged, you will be able to combine theory and practice effectively. It is here that projects become reality. They are very close to the offices of lecturers, and students often present their work there.
In the workshops you will find all the tools you need, traditional and state-of-the-art technology, to turn your projects into reality. Those who manage our workshops are skilled professionals who will help you and share their experience with you.
Currently we offer exchange programmes with almost 20 partner universities all over the world and we are part of a large network of collaboration with employers in Italy and abroad where you can undertake your internship. This study programme does not involve a compulsory internship.
This programme provides various training options, the main of which being becoming familiar with contemporary thought and creative practices. You can specialise in photography, video-making and three-dimensional projects. This will enable you to further your studies in the fields of graphic or product design, photography and cinematography.
