Our business is to carry out innovative research and train excellent economists who can understand and interpret the complexity of socio-economic and political processes in the 21st century.
More than 1,000 students are enrolled in our faculty, whose strength lies in its international outlook and the trilingualism - Italian German, English - of its study programmes, which prepare our students to operate in a global context. The ideal ratio of students and lecturers - more than 50 are tenured lecturers, from eight different countries - guarantees that all students are supervised in every stage of their study career. Support to students is guaranteed by the limited number of students we select and by regular office hours. Each lecturer provides tutoring for no more than 8 students.
Our best students will be added to the Dean’s list. Appearing in this list can be an excellent asset when students apply for internships and jobs.
The faculty ranked among the top 200 in the 2018 Times Higher Education Business and economics subject ranking. The Italian newspaper La Repubblica, in its 2015/16 University guide 'Grande Guida', has placed our faculty at the top of the national rank of small universities for teaching quality in the area of Economics and Statistics. Out of 850 assessed universities, our faculty is also at the top of the U-Multirank international ranking.
Research carried out in our faculty has been ranked by ANVUR among the best in Italy (fourth in the Economics area and second for Law and Politics), and it reflects our all-encompassing approach, in which specialists in the fields of economics, law, business, finance, politics and philosophy work together in several multidisciplinary projects.
There are five research clusters our lecturers and researchers work in:

We are working closely with companies, public and private institutions both for our research and our teaching. We have also established long-term partnerships with start-up companies and their networks, such as local business incubator Vitamin, and with large local companies like Röchling Automotive, Salewa, Durst and Miele.
In addition, we have developed innovative forms of collaboration with Assoimprenditori Alto Adige, IDM and the Bozen-Bolzano Chamber of Commerce, in order to promote the integration of teaching, research and work experience. Thanks to our exchange and inter-university collaboration programmes, we are part of a network including more than 50 universities.
