With a background as a Lawyer, Law Teacher, and Researcher in the Philosophy of Law, fascinated by mathematical logic, which I met due to my philosophy studies in law school, I decided to pursue a career in Computer Science, believing information technology is taking over every aspect of society and every research field.
As a Ph.D. candidate in CS, under the supervision of Prof. Giancarlo Guizzard, Enrico Franconi, and Tiago Prince Sales, I am glad to work with a team of high-level researchers at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Unibz) and the University of Twente (UT), researching in Applied Ontology, Conceptual Modeling, Ontology Engineering, and applications to the safety and security domains.
My research employs an ontology-driven approach to security modeling. I propose a general theory of prevention based on the Unified Foundational Ontology (UFO) to ground an ontology of security. These two ontological theories have been applied to analyze and redesign artifacts. I develop well-founded semantic solutions understandable, interpretable, and interoperable by humans and machines.
